Can you introduce us?

Dear Odyssey Families and Alumni,

We are excited to share another update as we continue planning for Odyssey’s future home at Washington School.

Following our Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Town of Manchester in August, our work is moving forward on several important fronts. Our architect is currently developing schematic designs that will help us further define the vision for the building and site. We are also beginning conversations with contractors to refine preliminary construction estimates and better understand the scope and cost of the project.

At the same time, we are beginning another critical part of this journey: building the philanthropic partnerships that will help make the vision for Washington possible.

As we develop our funding strategy, we are reaching out to foundations, corporations, businesses, and philanthropic organizations whose priorities align with Odyssey’s mission and the broader vision for Washington School.

This is where our Odyssey community can help.

Over 30 years, thousands of students, families, alumni, staff members, and friends have become part of the Odyssey story. Collectively, those relationships create an extraordinary network throughout Connecticut and beyond.

We are asking for your connections, not for a donation. Help us map our relationships. 

Do you have a personal or professional relationship with someone connected to a:

• charitable or family foundation;

• corporate foundation or corporate giving program;

• Connecticut business or business leader;

• philanthropic organization;

• organization that supports education, children and families, STEM, the arts, parks and recreation, or community development; or

• individual or family with a strong commitment to education or the Greater Hartford community?

If so, we would be grateful for an introduction! 

A personal connection, even simply an introductory email, can help open a door and give us an opportunity to share Odyssey’s story and our vision for Washington.

The opportunity before us is transformational. Washington would allow Odyssey to grow from approximately 420 to 630 students, providing more families with access to an Odyssey education while creating expanded spaces for academics, STEM, the arts and performances, recreation, outdoor learning, and community gathering. In partnership with the Town, we are also envisioning expanded park space and updated playgrounds that can benefit both our students and the broader Manchester community.

There is significant work ahead in design, construction planning, and securing the funding necessary to make this vision a reality. We know that a project of this magnitude will require many partners and we believe some of those relationships may already exist within our own Odyssey community.
