How To Apply

Overview of the enrollment process:

Students who are interested in attending Odyssey Community School must attend an Open House to learn more about our school, and then they must fill out an application. All applications are date and time-stamped as soon as they are received. Each student who applies is given a number, and then all of those numbers are entered into a lottery to determine which students will be accepted into the school.

On the night of the lottery, student names are drawn from an old-fashioned bingo cage, and we fill up the empty slots for each grade. After we fill up all of the available spaces for next year, we continue the lottery drawing for every child that has applied to Odyssey. If a student’s number is not called for the lottery, his or her name will be placed on the waiting list in the order that it was drawn.

We require a letter of commitment three weeks after the lottery telling us that the student will be attending Odyssey in the fall.

If your child does not get picked to attend Odyssey next year, his or her name will be placed on the waiting list in the order it was drawn. Applications received after the deadline are date- and time-stamped and those students are placed on a waiting list in order of when their applications were received.

What if I don’t get the commitment form back to the school by noon on May 18, 2018?
If commitment forms are not received by noon on  May 18, 2018, the open seat will be offered to the first student on the waiting list. The student who did not return the commitment form will be placed on the end of the waiting list.

Can I get an application on-line or have one mailed to me?
We only provide applications at our Open Houses. We have always believed that it’s important for parents and students to see our school in person and to hear about our school from teachers and current students before they decide to apply for admission.
