Important Notices

Thank you to the students, parents, alumni, and staff that came out to help clean up Bigelow Brook this past weekend. It was a great turnout and we collected quite a bit of trash from in and around the brook!

Executive Director Notes

By Elaine Stancliffe

The February benefit concert for Ace Morrison, who is being treated for leukemia, was a huge success. The Odyssey community really came together. We enjoyed a night of music from Sarah Billings’ band, Marla Hooch, as well as Sandra Gustafson’s songwriting and singing talents. Silent auction items were generously donated by people within the school as well as businesses and individuals from the larger community. Together we raised $4,200 to assist with the family’s expenses. The best news was in learning that Ace responded so well to the third round of chemo that he will only require one more treatment instead of the five that were originally planned. Sincere thanks to everyone who helped to make this event a success.

During the Latin America ASE students made Guatemalan worry dolls. Many of the children decided to donate their doll and an inspirational saying to a patient at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center to assist in their recovery.

With 7 snow days under our belt, at this point our last day of school will be Monday, June 22nd. Weather permitting, we won’t have to adjust this date again.

Eighth grade graduation will be held on Friday, June 19, at Manchester High School as MCC is unable to accommodate our event. Graduation is by invitation only. In the past, each graduate was allotted 8 tickets. Because of the larger venue, this year there will be 12 tickets available to each graduate. More details will follow in the spring.

This is a reminder that students need to be in their classes and ready by
